CUP O' JO - Nov 17, 2008

TOMMY EVERIDGE - Los Gigantes de Carolina, Puerto Rico (1B, Oakland A's Organization - Midland Rockhounds, AA)   0-for-2 in Carolina's loss to league leading Arecibo.  Tommy K'd and grounded out before being lifted for an offensive sub in the 6th. Thon, a former Joliet Jackhammers' teammate of Joey Gomes.  Thon lasted a few innings before being lifted for yet another offensive sub as defending Puerto Rican League Champions Los Gigantes pulled out all the stops to try for the win. Two costly errors by Carolina in the fourth contributed to Arecibo's four run rally and turned the tide in the game.  The League has a day off today, then Los Gigantes face Arecibo Tuesday and Wednesday. Arecibo has a 2.5 game lead over Carolina.

Since the Pearls has gone international during the off-season, how 'bout this pearl:
Schoolgirl Knuckleballer Headed To Japan Pro League  Yep, she wants to pitch to the boys and will be the first female pro to do so.  All 5 feet and 114 pounds of her.  You go girl!  We'll be checkin' up on you.
By the way, this pearl was dredged up by my friend, the legendary Ralph "F.E." Gentile, cousin to the uber-legendary Diamond Jim Gentile and special assistant to the ultra-uber-legendary Casa Grande Baseball Coach Mayo who is rumored to be shopping for a new cell phone today after his took a swim. Leave him a voicemail and ask him about it.

Give PTownFan a shout. It will make her day to know there is someone out there ;-) Don't worry. She doesn't always talk about herself in the third person like The Rickey.
