7-10 DAILY RECAP

JOEY GOMES (OF, Joliet Jackhammers, Northern League IND):
7/10: 1 for 4 in a 1-7 loss to the Goldeyes in Winnipeg. .244 Avg.

CHAD FILLINGER - P, Joliet Jackhammers, Northern League - IND:
7/10: 1 inning pitched, 3 hits, 2 runs (earned) on a triple. 3.65 ERA. Joliet signed two new pitchers yesterday as they continue to bolster the staff for the second half.

LOUIS OTT (DH/INF Detroit Tigers Organization - Erie Seawolves, AA):
... LOUIS PROMOTED TO THE AA EERIE SEAWOLVES ...
... CONGRATS LOU!...
7-10: Did not play in Erie's 10-14 loss to Reading. The Seawolves are 20 games back of the Division leader so hopefully Lou can be part of a turnaround. .260 avg.

TOMMY EVERIDGE (1B, Oakland A's Organization - Midland Rockhounds, AA):
7-10: 2 for 6 in a 1-2 loss to San Antonio. Tommy singled, hit a 2 out RBI doulble, and K'd once. .260 Avg Recap

KONRAD SCHMIDT (C, Arizona Diamondbacks Organization - SouthBend Silver Hawks, A):
7-10: Did not play in last night's 10-2 win over Quad Cities .259 avg.

JONNY GOMES (DH, Tampa Bay Rays):
7-10: Jonny went yard for the 7th time this season, providing the Rays' only offense in a 13-2 thumping by Cleveland yesterday. With the win, Cleveland snapped a 10 game losing streak and the Rays dropped their 4th consecutive game. Maddon wants an end to Home Run swings and a return to singles/doubles offense. Jonny gets another start today so let's hope he gets the gaps. .190 Avg

BRANDON MORROW (P, Seattle Mariners):
7-10: Ugh. It had to happen. After not giving up a run since May 27th, Brandon experienced his first blown save last night in an extra innings loss to Oakland. He inherited a two run lead, but gave up solo home runs to Cust and Suzuki to send the game into extra innings. His ERA now stands at 1.23.

PTOWN's UP AND COMERS (Little League All Star Tourney Play):

Decoder ring: PALL=Petaluma American, PNLL=Petaluma National and PVLL=Petaluma Valley Click here for great photographs by Nina Zhito, Argus Courier

Each of Petaluma's three leagues still has one team in post season play. PTownFan wishes them all the best of luck!

9/10 Year Olds:
All Petaluma teams have been eliminated.

10/11 Year Olds - District 35 Final:
PNLL , winners of the South Area, face Mark West tonight at 6pm in Ukiah in the District 35 Final. The winner of the District tourney represents D35 in the Section I Tourney in Albany.

11/12 Year Olds (Major/Little Leauge All Stars) - District 35 Final:
South Area Champs, PVLL, continue on the Road To Williamsport for the Little League World Series with a 13-0 win last night over Mendo/Coast in the District 35 Championship Tourney. They face Ukiah tonight at 6pm in Healdsburg. With a win tonight, they will need only one more win to lock up the District Title. Next stop should they win will be the Section I Tourney in Woodland.

Junior All Stars - District 35 Final:
PALL plays Healdsburg tonight at 6pm for the District 35 Title in Helen Putnam Park off Myrtle Ave in Cotati. Healdsburg carries a loss into the Tourney so PALL only needs one victory to take home the flag. Should PALL lose, the two teams will meet again tomorrow morning in Cotati at ll a.m. The next stop on the Road to the Junior Division World Series in Taylor, Michigan for the District Champion will be the Section I Tourney hosted by Mill Valley, though the games are played in Terra Linda on Nova Albion Way near Kaiser Permanente. The D35 Champion's first game will be on Sunday at 2pm.

Senior Division All Stars - District 35 Final:
The combined PALL/PNLL/PVLL team were eliminated with a second loss to El Molino last night.

Give PTownFan a shout. It will make her day to know there is someone out there ;-) Don't worry. She doesn't always talk about herself in the third person like The Rickey.
