The Bulls broke the Louisville Bats playoff hopes with a 9-1 win last night in Durham. The Bulls took the series 3-1 and will play for the Governors' Cup beginning Tuesday in Moosic, PA. They face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the best 3 of 5 series. This will be the second straight year and the sixth time in eleven seasons that the Bulls have played for the Governors Cup.
Yesterday's win was fueled by rookie catcher Matt Spring's six RBI performance and another home run by Jonny Gomes. The game was Spring's first start at AAA. He impressed with a 3 for 4 effort that included a three-run home run, a two run double , and an RBI single. Jon Weber also knocked the ball around going 4-5 with a run scored. Wade Davis got the win.
The Rays could sure use some hot bats. Let's conjure up some of that good old PTown mojo for the boys and see if we can't help Jonny get back to Tampa Bay to spark some offense. Regarding yesterday's series sweep by the Toronto Blue Jays over the Rays... if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. I'm goin' with that.

Give PTownFan a shout. It will make her day to know there is someone out there ;-) Don't worry. She doesn't always talk about herself in the third person like The Rickey.
